In this section, you can find information about our Collection Centers and how to access them, as well as download preparations to properly and adequately perform laboratory tests.

 

Mode of access

For almost all examinations, there is no need to make reservations (except for Buonarroti Collection Center on some days of the week, info tel: 02 4801 5355).

Reservation is required only for the following services:

  • gynecological swabs;
  • urethral swabs;
  • prolactin dosing at defined times;
  • renin and aldosterone in clinostatism and genetic testing;
  • prolactin curve;
  • breath tests.

To perform the blood sampling under ideal conditions remember:

  • You must be fasting since the previous evening
  • Only 1-2 glasses of water is allowed
  • Any strenuous exercise should be avoided in the days immediately preceding the collection
  • Unless specifically directed by the attending physician, taking medication on the morning of collection should be avoided

 

Pediatric collections from 6 to 10 years:

  • Fasting is necessary only if blood glucose testing is planned
  • If glucose loading is expected: fasting from midnight but water intake is recommended

Biological sample acceptability criteria are defined by the preparations; if not met, the patient will be recalled for repetition.

Reporting times for basic examinations are 2 working days. Reporting times for specialized examinations range from 4 to 7 working days. Timelines may increase for procedures that require special technical time.

Our Collection Centers

The H San Raffaele Resnati Laboratory performs onsite tests related to the Basic Clinical Laboratory and provides the remaining services through the service of Ospedale San Raffaele Laboratories.
Samples are taken for Clinical Biochemistry and Toxicology, Hematology and Coagulation, Immunohematology, Microbiology and Virology, Pathological Anatomy and Clinical Genetics.
